Neva and Maddie, seniors at RSS, are making an impact beyond the classroom! Neva, who serves as Colorado’s Youth Ambassador to the CWDC, and Maddie have been interning with the nonprofit Homegrown Pathways, researching ways to improve youth access to career credentials. Their work with the Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC) focuses on enhancing the Quality Credential Registry, making it more user-friendly so young people can easily find and understand career pathways.
Through data analysis and interviews with rural youth in Ouray County, they identified a significant gap in accessible information on career credentials. They presented their findings to the Ridgway School Board, City Council, and state leaders, advocating for meaningful change to better support students across Colorado.
In addition, they shared updates on their Spark Lab entrepreneurial projects, further showcasing their commitment to innovation and workforce readiness.
